Written plainly, because the way this industry usually makes money is the reason families cannot trust it.
We do not take a placement commission. The standard model in this industry pays a referral site between $3,500 and $12,000 when a resident moves into a particular facility. That means the site has a direct financial interest in where your family member ends up, and it is why most sites only show you facilities that have agreed to pay them.
We think that is the wrong shape for a business that families rely on during one of the hardest decisions of their lives.
Nothing, to families. Ever. There is no fee, no subscription, and no upsell for the people searching.
Facilities may buy a premium listing at $4 per licensed bed per month, minimum $39, maximum $599. It gets them photos, published availability, price bands, and a monthly report. It does not move them up the list.
Coming later: paid introductions. A facility will be able to pay a flat $150 when a family specifically asks to be introduced to them. We are paid the same whether or not anyone moves in. That is deliberate, and it is the whole point. This is not switched on yet.
Some of our guides carry a sponsor, an elder-law attorney or a senior move manager for example. Sponsors appear only on articles and guides, never on the search or the results, they are always labelled, and they never involve any tracking of you. We do not run advertising networks and there are no third-party trackers anywhere on this site.
